LONG OVERDUE HAUL!

The weather was so gorgeous that I decided to photograph my goodies outdoors! The lighting was absolutely perfect, but let me tell you that the photos do the items no justice! Here is a haul of some sorts, these items were purchased over a period of time and I understand this post is LONG overdue (I apologize) and I haven't blogged in approximately 1-2 weeks! Eeeek! To make up for it I have this nice lengthy haul for your enjoyment! I'm listening to this and this as I write! xo
One of my favourite things about summer is the fact that we get to wear gorgeous things on our feet! In fact I purchased these lovelies for a steal at Forever 21! The first pair are a gorgeous pair of grey sandals perfect to be paired with a summer dress! I wear these with everything! The second are canvas slip on shoes that have (atleast in my opinion) a slight boyfriend feel. I am that jeans and t-shirt kinda-girl and these are perfect with a plan white tee and some jeans. They make the outfit look effortless and comfortable!

Although I've had my room painted for almost a year now, I haven't finished decorating yet...I found these beauties at my local home and garden store (where little brother works, btw - that's how I got the discount!) aren't they gorgeous?!? I love them! They compliment my room wonderfully. I plan to hang these up above my bead on the main wall, I think they'll look perfect! Maybe I show you all the finished product? *wink*
I love headbands! I have been wearing them before I could even walk! These satin-bowed beauties came as a set for a bargain at Forever 21. I was browsing the website for summer clothing and I couldn't resist! Plus, I feel like a girl can't have too many head bands; there are so many styles and colors to choose from and you can match them with any outfit!
Another Forever 21 purchase! I know what you are thinking: I'm Forever 21 crazy! I thought this was TOO CUTE to pass up as well! I was looking for something to hang up my necklaces on since I hate when they get tangled in my drawer and I found this stand! This photo does absolutely no justice! This necklace stand is a vintage inspired piece that I love! It definitely adds character to my dresser!
Lipstick lovers rejoice! If you remember from this post how desperately I was looking for a new lippie. I recieved so many comments and suggestions from all of you lovely readers that I had a hard time choosing! Some lovely ladies suggested I try lower ended brands before I try higher ended brands and I decided to purchase a mix of both! I may do swatches in another post if anyone is interested.
1. NYX - Indian Pink
2. REVLON - (Pearl) Rose & Shine
3. MAC - (Frost) Angel
4. MAC - (Cremesheen) Fanfare
5. MAC - (Lustre) Hug Me
There is an interesting story about this Tunic, it's from Pakistan! I bought this off of a co-worker of mine who came back from Pakistan..this photo does this top no justice, I promise you! The material is amazing for summer... so light and airly! I love tunics in the summer time; they make you look and feel effortless and stylish! I am thinking of pairing it with a thin camel brown belt for an added touch.  Any suggestions on how to style this? I would appreciate any suggestions!
+ Last but not least, this camel shoulder bag was purchased from GLOBO shoes for a steal! They had the same bag in black which i'm usually drawn to first, but it looked much better in this shade. I took this to Nova Scotia with me and it was a dream to carry, I fit tons of things in it! I'd like your opinion on how YOU would style this bag with an outfit. Leave me a comment if you have any ideas!

On another note: I've been debating over whether or not I should do outfit posts. Quite a few bloggers do them but because of some personal issues I end up backing out. Maybe sometime in the near future? Also, I'd love your input if you have any ideas for this blog; things you would like to see more and less of..let me know!

Much love ♥

Jewel Junkie.

[1.] I love these earrings! They are vintage inspired dangle earrings perfect for Spring! I got these beauties for a steal at $2.99 . You should have seen how hard this lady was eye-ing these earrings while they were in my hands ... she left her place in line to get herself a pair. Lucky for me, they were the last pair! I'd like your advice on how to style these earrings with an outfit. Leave me your suggestions in the comment section! Much appreciated!

[2.] That is a one rock solid ring, let me tell you! I won this custom ring from the Valentine's Day giveaway hosted on HelloSplendor.com  by f. is for Frank  back in February. I've been meaning to post about it since then, and that didn't happen! [oops.]  This is hands down the most unique piece of jewellry I own; and although it's too big for my fingers, I still love it!

[3.] & [4.] Those who follow my personal blog know that a couple of weeks ago I had gone on a mini vacation to another province, Nova Scotia. These jewels (shown above) have become memorable (and wearable!) souvenirs from that trip... I was aimlessly wondering around Downtown Halifax when I came across The Black Market. My jaw dropped as I walked in.. it was as if someone had literally taken all the handicrafts and jewellry from India but shoved it into this teeny tiny little shop. It was unbelivable! I didn't get much from the shop just a few interesting pieces. The first, is a silver wrap bracelet which is typically worn in the region of Rajasthan, India (if I'm not mistaken) and the second, a silver choker style  necklace also from Rajasthan. The Black Market has reasonably priced items which is great, I got these trinkets for a bargain. I know they may not be your everyday jewels but I love 'em!

[5.] Another bracelet! This one if from a cute boutique, Pink Mascara in Spring Garden Mall, Halifax (Nova Scotia). I am debating on how I would style this bracelet.. I'm thinking of pairing it with other bracelets for a laid back and effortless look. Your thoughts?

[6.] I wasn't going to include this silly purchase in this post but then I thought .. why not! The story behind purchasing this clock: I fell in love with London in 2010 and left my heart behind... This clock reminds me of all the fond memories that took place in London/UK - memories I can never forget! The funny thing is, I found this clock among the other souvenirs at Murphy's Gift Shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia! Kind of odd, don't you think? Maybe it's a sign!

Kind of a pointless post, but hope you enjoyed it anyway! x

>> Edit: A BIG THANK YOU to all the lovelies who commented on this post, I really appreciated everyone's suggestions and took them all into consideration. I got tons of informative responses and I honestly appreciate each and everyone of you! Thanks! xx

Random purchases of the day 07/01/11

Top to Bottom: Wristlet, Coin Pouch, Compact Mirror

Compact Mirror

Barts Earmuffs (please excuse the slobby sweatshirt!)

Earmuffs

I went car shopping today, but no avail. However, I didn't come back empty handed! I purchased some cute finds! The earmuffs are by far my favourite! I am not a hat person; they just don't look good on me (must be my big head!). These 'muffs are so soft and keep my ears warm, I love them! The D'lish set was a steal! I got 3 essential pieces for a fair price. I've been looking for a wristlet big enough to keep my phone + keys + essentials and this one is the perfect size. Also the coin pouch also has a built in key ring that I can attach my keys to without fear of loosing them! It's also a great size, perfect for storing credit cards and change! The compact is so cute; with a double mirror, I can't wait to stash it in my bag! It's perfect to use for touch-ups and making sure there is no spinach stuck between your teeth! (LOL).  Along with that, I purchased other random items (not shown) an Adidas Eau De Toilette set, 2 boxes of my favourite chocolates (to share with the family of course!) and 2 pairs of purple gloves for those cold cold days! Happy Friday everyone!

Recent Purchases from Cydangie Beautyshop

My first 120 Palette & makeup brush set! Hiya Dolls, just wanted to share a quick ramble with you of a few purchases I made online from Cydangie Beautyshop .

I have been wanting to purchase a 120 palette for a VERY VERY long time, and I finally did. (Hey! It beats buying individuals!) Let me tell you how convenient having a 120 palette is! OHEMGEE. I don't have to go looking around for that particular shade of blue or green, it's all right THERE. I got a chance to use the 120 for the first time, during the christmas/wedding weekend I attended, (see the post here) which was great because I did different looks for all of the 3 days (so did my mum, I let her use it too!). The colors are nicely pigmented, which means you do not need to use a lot of product! I purchased it at approximately $25.00 + shipping, and it arrived in 1 week - - with not one but 4 BROKEN eyeshadows. Also there was some damage to my palette.. You can imagine my disappointment. < sighs > Similarly, I purchased a 120 palette + brushes for a friend as a gift (and hoped and prayed that nothing happened to hers!) and thankfully, her set was fine; all shadows intact and no damage. I guess it's just my luck! Har. Anyhow, overall I was very pleased, and I won't be purchasing eyeshadows for a very longggg time (since I have this palette)!

It's a clutch! Or is it? I wanted to share this GORGEOUS makeup brush set purchased from Cydangie Beautyshop a few weeks ago. I bought it on special for only $33.18 CDN for the set, (minus $5.95 for shipping!) which is a pretty good deal considering how much brush sets normally cost... It was well packaged and arrived on my door step in approximately 1-2 weeks which is not bad.

The brushes are made from Goat hair (just in case you were curious) and come individually wrapped in plastic, which is marvelous! I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but I will definitely do a review once I have had a good using of them. Right of the bat, I was impressed buy the quality of the clutch, the material is quite sturdy and durable and I absolutely love the print! I love how all the brushes are in one convenient place! This clutch is perfect because you can literally roll it out, lay it flat and do your make up; and when you are done, just pop the brushes back into the slots, roll it up, snap it shut and VOILA! You are good to go! One thing I don't like, however,  is that the brushes are not named or numbered...but that's just my opinion! It is currently sold out, I am not sure if they will be getting anymore in, I got this at the whim of a second while I was browsing the page, I almost didn't see it! Too bad it doesn't have any pockets, or else I would've used it as a clutch for my next outing! haha!
There are a total of 16 brushes which include the following:
  1. Face Brush
  2. Blush Brush
  3. Contouring Brush
  4. Large Shading Brush
  5. Small Shading Brush
  6. Fluff Brush
  7. Shader Brush
  8. Small Shader Brush
  9. Concealer Brush
  10. Fan Brush
  11. Flat Angled Brush
  12. Lip Brush
  13. Eye Liner Brush
  14. Spool Brush
  15. Eyebrow Brush/Lash Comb
  16. Sponge Brush
* Sorry about the bad "bed" photography (it's so hard to get good lighting in the evening!).
ThankGodIt'sFriday! I can't believe i'm back in class next week! Ahhh! But for now, TGIF!

Let's Go Wild!

Hi Lovelies!  I purchased a few items from Suzy Shier and Sirens today and wanted to share them with you all! I realised a little while later that they were mostly all animal-inspired pieces, what a coincidence! I love anything leopard/leopard print and I was so excited to find these wild cat inspired pieces! Please excuse my ghetto way of taking photos! I do what I can to get good quality, alright? Sorry, that was quite picture heavy wasn't it?!

Surprisingly, I wasn't in the shopping mood today..honestly, I only went out for a change of setting and some fresh air. But, I couldn't resist these wild pieces! I have been looking for big "statement" studs for a while now, and just haven't found a pair that I really liked...untill I saw these! I have also been looking for a Leopard necklace...if that makes any sense and I found one! This necklace was also available in gold, but since I have so many gold necklaces I decided to go with silver! The ring was a piece that I was immediately drawn to, and I have started a bit of a ring collection and thought that this would be the perfect addition! + it's animal themed how could I resist?! The Leopard top randomly caught my eye as I was walking through the shop, and I knew I HAD to have it. There was no way I was leaving with out it. Let me tell you that I had the perfect outfit in mind when I saw it! HMM...maybe I shall do an OOTD with this top? Hope you enjoyed this post! Toodles.

AVON HAUL: Swatches

This is for you Bhumika! (Hope this helped!)

Here are the swatches from my AVON HAUL posted on Christmas day. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, see it here.

The swatches might look slightly different from what they are in person, I apologize. It's the camera's fault!

I wanted to wear the colors on my face to show you, however, I am not feeling well today and didn't want to put a sickly picture up of myself! ahaha.

I haven't worn everything yet, but I have worn the glazewear sparkle lipgloss in rave and the healthy makeup lipstick in cocoa gleam this weekend, and they look GORGEOUS together! I did find that the metallic eyeliners were hard to swatch, you may need to go over an area more than once for the color to really show up.

AVON HAUL

Hiya! I made some purchases from AVON.ca and decided to share it with you all.

The women in my family have been ordering from AVON as long as I can remember...My aunt was an AVON lady at one point, and my co-worker is too... This would be my first buying experience from AVON since I would usually jack stuff from my mom or ask her to order things for me...

Anyway, AVON.ca was having a sale, and all the products I ordered range from 99 cents to $9.99, which is not bad. I bought 10 makeup items in total, not much, but I decided to try it out and see how I like the products and the online service. Standard shipping was $1.00 if you spend $30, I believe, and if you spend $50 you recieve a free gift..and trust me it is not hard to spend over $50! I had the option of express shipping, but I figured, since it is the holidays my shipment wouldn't arrive this week anyway, why pay the extra money? I ordered my items on December 19th and recieved them on the 24th. I took them a few days to process my information and prepare the shipment, but I honestly didn't expect it to reach me that fast!

Now onto the goodies! Let me know if you would like to see swatches or reviews on these items and I will gladly do them for you.

Hope you enjoyed this post. More later.

Do you like AVON products? Have you purchased from AVON before? If yes, what was your experience like?

Happy Holidays everyone!

Sigma Duo Fibre - F55

Hey dolls!

I purchased my first Sigma Brush (I know, what took me so long!?!?) on Black Friday since they were having an awesome FREE SHIPPING deal.

I have been contemplating purchasing from Sigma for a LONG time, I did a post on this back in September, see it here .

I purchased the Sigma Duo Fibre - F55 [ click for product details ]  for only $14.00 on November 26th and it arrived today by mail!

It is so lovely, the bristles are so soft and the brush looks great. I am quite impressed to say the least, I can't wait to purchase more!

I actually was looking to get the Naughty in Black Travel Kit for $49.00, but I just recently bought a mixed array of brushes from The Body Shop and Superdrug and didn't feel the need to buy more brushes... but I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase a set!

I was presently surprised that shipping didn't take as long, I anticipated another 3 to 4 weeks for delivery!

I may do a review once I have gotten a chance to use the brush to its fullest...look out for that!

--> Visit Sigma here.

Have you purchased from Sigma before? If so, what were your experiences like? Have a favourite Sigma brush? Let me know! I appreciate your feedback, so comment and criticize!

Recently Purchased O.P.I Nail Lacquers

Hiya!
Approximately a week or so ago I found a great place to buy O.P.I nail lacquers online with minimal shipping costs (go me!).
The closest place for me to purchase O.P.I nail polishes would have to Trade Secrets at the Square One Shopping Centre (for all of you in Toronto/Canada) which is not as close as I would like. Moreover, why would I buy O.P.I's for $9.99 at Trade Secrets when they cost $5.35 CDN on Ebay?

I know what you are thinking.. "Ebay? Your joking, right?". Yes, the truth I shall tell. I bought them off of Ebay! Shipping was also cheap for Canada which was great. Not only did they have O.P.I nail lacquers, they also carried other brands such as China Glaze and some Essie. O.P.I is by far my favourite and so I only buy nail lacquers by them.

I decided to try my luck and bought 4 amazing shades.
  • O.P.I - Otherwise Engaged
  • Source: mp.hairboutique.com
  • O.P.I - Conquistadorable Color
  •
    Source: berelax.com

  • O.P.I - Light My Sapphire (Can you tell why I bought this one? The hint is in the name!)
  • Source: digitalhouse.net
  • O.P.I - Ink
Source: millies.ie
& I'm going back for more! I just love shopping in the comfort of my own home!

I bought them on the 21st of November, they were shipped on the 23rd and I recieved them on the 30th. Not bad eh? The nail polishes were individually wrapped in bubble wrap and came in a sealed mailing envelope. I had no issues with any damages or wrapping, the products were fine.

My next O.P.I purchases?
  1. Royal Rajah Ruby
  2. Black Cherry Chutney
  3. Plugged in Plum
  4. Romeo & Joliet
  5. Bastille My Heart
  6. Get Me To The Taj On Time
  7. Diva of Geneva
  8. My Private Jet
  9. Curry Up Don't Be Late
  10. Baby Blue
& I could probably add a few more.

Interested in purchasing from the mentioned Ebay seller? To see the seller's store click here. For the seller's profile click here. This sellers feedback score is great (I always go through the seller's feedback before I make a purchase).

If you do decide to purchase from this Ebay seller, let me know. I would love to hear your experience. What are your favourite O.P.I shades? Let me know.
