L'Oreal Go 360° Clean Exfoliating Scrub

I absolutely love facial scrubs/exfoliators! I love how they make you feel like you are actually cleaning away dirt from your face! There are so many facial exfoliators and cleansers out there that claim to "deep clean" and after seeing the ads for this product (featuring the lovely Freida Pinto) I decided to try it out. I decided to purchase this product for my trip to England/India/Dubai this past summer and put it to good use! My cousins back home liked it so much I ended up giving my bottle to them!

There are 4 formulas to choose from [Deep Facial Gel Cleanser (Green), Deep Cream Cleanser (Pink), Deep Exfoliating Scrub (Orange), Deep Facial Lotion Cleanser for Sensitive Skin (Blue)] that you can choose based on your personal preference; whether you prefer a lotion cleanser or an exfoliating scrub. I use this cleanser 2 to 3 times a week only since I was told by a pharmacy professional aka my cousin, that using a an exfoliator with beads everyday can dry out your skin... The other days that this cleanser is not used a use a slightly less harsh alternative for my skin.  This product can be purchased for under $10 at your local drug or department store. My favourite part of this cleanser is the part that the scrublet can be removed for usage and put back into its place for storage so you will never loose it!
audreydao.com
I have very oily /sensitive skin especially in my t-zone area and I must say this product works wonders for my skin. I did not feel any tightness or dryness in my skin after usage, something which I have felt with other cleansers. Makeup comes off well with the Deep Exfoliating Scrub ; since the natural apricot seed beads exfoliate away all dirt and grime nicely.  However, it did NOT remove a liquid liner (by GOSH Cosmetics) even though I scrubbed multiple times. That has to be the only disappointment I've had so far with this cleanser.

Directions
1. Squeeze a small amount of cleanser onto the scrublet
2. Apply the scrublet directly to skin in circular motions
3. Rinse off, use as desired.

What the company claims

Thoughts on the scrublet?
• Not a fan. The scrublet is more or less a flimsy piece of rubber with ridges that "supposedly" scrub away dirt and grime. I used it once or twice and then used my fingers to do the job. Since the scrub has little beads that create the exfoliating affect on the skin. However, if you were to use the lotion cleanser or the gel cleanser then they scrublet might be more effective.

The good
• Oil free
• Dermatologist tested
• Good consistency of product
• No breakouts
• No skin tightness
• Good packaging, Sturdy bottle
• Lightly scented (Apricot)
• Good size (178 mL)

The bad
• Not a fan of the scrublet
• May not remove thick formulations of makeup (liquid liner)

Overall experience
• I would rate this product a 7.5 or 8/10 and overall it is a good product.
• The good out ways the bad on this one; I would definately repurchase this product, and based on my experience I am tempted to try the other formulas.

Have you used this product before? If you have, what was your experience like?

Recent Purchases from Cydangie Beautyshop

My first 120 Palette & makeup brush set! Hiya Dolls, just wanted to share a quick ramble with you of a few purchases I made online from Cydangie Beautyshop .

I have been wanting to purchase a 120 palette for a VERY VERY long time, and I finally did. (Hey! It beats buying individuals!) Let me tell you how convenient having a 120 palette is! OHEMGEE. I don't have to go looking around for that particular shade of blue or green, it's all right THERE. I got a chance to use the 120 for the first time, during the christmas/wedding weekend I attended, (see the post here) which was great because I did different looks for all of the 3 days (so did my mum, I let her use it too!). The colors are nicely pigmented, which means you do not need to use a lot of product! I purchased it at approximately $25.00 + shipping, and it arrived in 1 week - - with not one but 4 BROKEN eyeshadows. Also there was some damage to my palette.. You can imagine my disappointment. < sighs > Similarly, I purchased a 120 palette + brushes for a friend as a gift (and hoped and prayed that nothing happened to hers!) and thankfully, her set was fine; all shadows intact and no damage. I guess it's just my luck! Har. Anyhow, overall I was very pleased, and I won't be purchasing eyeshadows for a very longggg time (since I have this palette)!

It's a clutch! Or is it? I wanted to share this GORGEOUS makeup brush set purchased from Cydangie Beautyshop a few weeks ago. I bought it on special for only $33.18 CDN for the set, (minus $5.95 for shipping!) which is a pretty good deal considering how much brush sets normally cost... It was well packaged and arrived on my door step in approximately 1-2 weeks which is not bad.

The brushes are made from Goat hair (just in case you were curious) and come individually wrapped in plastic, which is marvelous! I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but I will definitely do a review once I have had a good using of them. Right of the bat, I was impressed buy the quality of the clutch, the material is quite sturdy and durable and I absolutely love the print! I love how all the brushes are in one convenient place! This clutch is perfect because you can literally roll it out, lay it flat and do your make up; and when you are done, just pop the brushes back into the slots, roll it up, snap it shut and VOILA! You are good to go! One thing I don't like, however,  is that the brushes are not named or numbered...but that's just my opinion! It is currently sold out, I am not sure if they will be getting anymore in, I got this at the whim of a second while I was browsing the page, I almost didn't see it! Too bad it doesn't have any pockets, or else I would've used it as a clutch for my next outing! haha!
There are a total of 16 brushes which include the following:
  1. Face Brush
  2. Blush Brush
  3. Contouring Brush
  4. Large Shading Brush
  5. Small Shading Brush
  6. Fluff Brush
  7. Shader Brush
  8. Small Shader Brush
  9. Concealer Brush
  10. Fan Brush
  11. Flat Angled Brush
  12. Lip Brush
  13. Eye Liner Brush
  14. Spool Brush
  15. Eyebrow Brush/Lash Comb
  16. Sponge Brush
* Sorry about the bad "bed" photography (it's so hard to get good lighting in the evening!).
ThankGodIt'sFriday! I can't believe i'm back in class next week! Ahhh! But for now, TGIF!

Hair Care: I am NOT a fan of ...

As I showered this morning before work, I reached in my shower caddy for my body scrubbie and low and behold I spotted the half-filled (or half-empty :P) bottles of unwanted shampoo and conditioner that have not been used in ages...

... & now I remembered why.

What am I talking about?
It's the Brilliant Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner by Frederic Fekkai.
Check out the Fekkai website here.

What is Frederic Fekkai?
Never heard of this brand? Trust me, I only discovered it a few months ago... like most products, they are hardly available here in Canada. They have a full range of hair products for shampoos and conditioners to styling products.

I ordered the shampoo & conditioner online through Sephora a month or 2 ago; and I believe they have pulled if offshelves since (atleast the one here in Square One). This brand is more readily available in the UK and in the US. It retails for approximately $9.00-$35.00 depending on the size of the bottle (2 oz,8 oz or 16 oz).

What the company says:
As per the description on the compnay website : "Fekkai's legendary shine collection infuses new Encapsulated Shine-Release Complex in its winning formula containing olive oil to renew shine all day, strand by strand, minute by minute."

The good:
  • Reputable brand
  • Good formulation
  • Lovely scent
  • Sturdy Bottle: good quality, not cheap plastic
The bad:
  • OVER priced, well just a little...
  • Shampoo didn't lather enough
  • Conditioner was hard to wash out, much too thick = greasy hair
The ugly:

  • Didn't do my hair ANY good, I ended up with frizzy unmanageable hair
  • Product invited Hair fallout? Possibily! (once I stopped using it, it decreased).
... & thus I thought to myself, I need to answer the world. The beauty god's are up there shaking their glossy-voluminous-haired-heads at me in shame (for not using up the product, of course). After all that, I thought I should definately do a post on this! I am now trying to figure out what to do with the rest of this product. I could throw it away, along with $46.00 but that would be a waste...

Would I purchase this item again? This particular product? No...but I am tempted to try others from the Fekkai brand (do I ever learn? LOL).

Overall Rating: 5/10 - This product was a huge let down for me..(I used it as soon as I got it in the mail, I was so excited!)

Source: officialkourtneyk.celebuzz.com
Did you know celebrities such as the Kardashian sisters use this product religiously? Kourtney Kardashian specifically mentions it here on her website/blog.

What did I learn?
A hyped product doesn't ALWAYS mean it's good. Also, a more expensive product doesn't always mean it's good either! ... but there is no harm in trying, right? That's how you learn ... next time I know to be more aware of what I am putting my hard earned money towards.

Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for YOU! I have read other reviews of how it worked amazingly well! I wish I could say the same! Don't have the cash? You can try the mini bottles for $10 each as a "trial" (which I was thinking I should have done that first before purchasing the bigger size).

I guess I will just stick to my cheaper Garnier Fructis shampoo/conditioner meanwhile, they do my hair WONDERS!

Have you purchased the Brilliant Glossing Shampoo & Conditioner by Frederic Fekkai? Have you purchased any items from this line? What do you look for in a good shampoo & conditioner? Your thoughts? Leave 'em below!

Hope this was informative!

Hair Care: Proclaim Argan Hair Oil Treatment

Hey Dolls! I have a hair care post for you, enjoy!

Hair oiling has been done in India for a very longggg time; and everytime I go back, I get it done by my aunts or cousins. It is so relaxing and promotes healthy hair and scalp. I have used many different types of hair oils; everything from Coconut oil to Sesame Seed oil and Amla oil. There are TONS and I mean TONS of brands of hair oil in India, how do you know which one to choose? It's interesting to see how those same brands have actually made their way abroad to US and Canada store shelves! Looks like it is no longer only practiced in India anymore...

Why do you think all the girls in India have long thick beautiful hair? ahah!

A product thumbnail of Proclaim Argan Oil Hair Oil Treatment
Source: sallybeauty.com
The Product:
Proclaim Argan Hair Oil Treatment
3 fl oz. (89 mL)
Claims to: Provide Intense Shine and Help Eliminate Frizz
"Proclaim Argan Oil Hair Oil Treatment is uniquely formulated with Argan Oil to help repair dry, damaged hair."

Package directions: Apply a small amount of Proclaim Argan Oil Hair Oil Treatment in your palm and distribute evenly throughout damp or dry hair. Style as desired.

Check this product out on the Sally Hansen website here for details.

I have been using Proclaim Argan Hair Oil Treatment for the last few weeks. I purchased this product at my local Sally Hansen (for those not in Canada, you can purchase this product online from Amazon), for somewhere around $6.99, but I have to say I love it! I have seen this product being called a dupe to Moroccan Oil.

Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the Argan tree in Morocco. The tree is widely used for nutritive, cosmetic and medicinal purposes and it is rich in Vitamin E.

Just so you know...
I have medium-long thick black hair (with faded highlights), I use this product as you would a deep conditioner. I was told by the Sally employee that you can use this product in wet or dry hair...but I'm not sure I like the idea of using an oil in clean wet hair...has anyone ever done that before? The Sally Hansen employee also told me that you only need a very small amount of product, and you do not need to use too much. I was appalled! Only a small amount? Would that really do anything?
My routine includes:
  1. Changing into a pair of clothes that I don't mind getting ruined, or just a raggidy old t-shirt (You wouldn't want any oil products near your favourite sweater, would you?).
  2. I take a few drops of the product and warm it up by rubbing my hands together.
  3. Gently massage my scalp with my hands; focus on areas such as the hairline closest to the forehead and behind my ears.
  4. I use as much product as I feel necessary. How much you use is all personal preference and may depend on the thickness of your hair.
  5. Sometimes I wrap my hair in a small hand towel, or simply clip my hair up loosely, or leave it untied and keep the oil in overnight for the "deep conditioning" affect. I know it sounds odd (and messy) to sleep with a head full of oil but trust me it does wonders! (Mind you, I cover my pillows with a thicker towel so I don't get my pillows oily!)
  6. Wash it off the next morning and I have shiney and silky hair!
I do this oil routine almost every other day (so when ever I will shower the following day). My hair feels great afterwards; so soft and healthy! This has to be one of my favourite products ever! I love the sweet smell (something I have never experienced with hair oils before) and it is not at all heavy, and will not wear your hair down.

The Good:
  • Great scent, smells sweet
  • Not as greasy, as other hair oils I've used
  • No build up
  • Adds shine

The Bad:
  • Bottle size, much too small.

Overall Rating: 9/10

Would I buy this again? Definately! I am already looking for a bigger bottle!

I am now looking to get my hands on other Proclaim products! :)

** Remember: what works for me, may not work for you. My reviews are based on personal experiences and opinion. **

Have you tried Proclaim Argan Hair Oil? Your thoughts?

Fragrance: Kim Kardashian

Guess what came in the post today?

Yes, that's right.. It's my Kim Kardashian perfume! I have been waiting for this package for a week now and I'm so excited to have finally recieved it! I am an avid Kim Kardashian fan and like everyone else, I think she is simply gorgeous! Anyhow, back to the review... I ordered the gift set fromLighthouse Beauty, visit their website here.

Description
Kim Kardashian - The voluptuous new fragrance
Lighthouse Beauty describes the fragrance as: "A timeless scent inspired by the classic beauty and modern style that encompasses the icon herself. Experience glamour and luxury with..."

I purchased the:
[ Kim Kardashian 3pc Gift Set T-Shirt, 3.4 oz EDP Spray and Rollerball Fragrance ] for $65.00 US + shipping and I thought it was great value.

Just the perfume itself could be $65.00 but I really wanted to Rollerball Fragrance to keep in my purse or bag, and this gift set was just perfect!

The bottle is gorgeous; different then many of the other perfumes I own (I have over 10!) but just as elegant as Kim Kardashian herself.

The Fragrance
I read quite a few reviews on this fragrance before and after purchasing. I must say, I do feel as it is not what I expected from Kim Kardashian but I am still a fan. I guess I had different ideas in mind for what I thought the fragrance would smell like. The scent is quite floral, although right away I can't point out the exact ingredients, after reading the inspiration of her fragrance, the scent totally made sense!

Kim Kardashians inspiration for her fragrance on Lighthouse Beauty's webpage:

" A bouquet of Tuberose, Jasmine and Gardenia deliver and undeniably femininity that compliments Kim. Tonka bean, jacaranda wood and sandalwood adds a warn sensual feeling throughout, evoking the soft side of Kim"

Not that I was disappointed - but I do feel that it has a distinctive smell to it and it is more "grown up" then I would have imagined Kim Kardashian to smell like. LOL. I imagined the scent to be a cross between something Burberry and Chanel-ish (if that makes any sense) but aside from that I do really like it. I haven't worn it out yet, but I'm optimisstic that it will grow on me. Maybe its not my favourite fragrance but I'm still a fan!

Customer Service
The packaging was good, and nothing was damaged in shipping everything was intact. Also, I recieved confirmation emails at the time of purchase so I was aware of when the payement went through, and when the item was sent for shipping. Lighthouse Beauty was really good about keeping up with customer service.

Overall thoughts
If you are in doubt of whether you will like it or not, give it a try you can purchase a smaller size (price starts at $35) or even purchase the sample size at your local Sephora (if you have on in your area). I love the gift set feature, the only thing is the T-shirt was in a large size I wear a small/medium (maybe I can shrink it?), but other than that I love Kim Kardashians fragrance!

* I apologize for the horrible picture quality, I will invest in a new better quality camera soon! *

Review: Marc Anthony Style Straight

This would be my first product review!

Who: MARC ANTHONY STYLE STRAIGHT
What: INSTANT STRAIGHTENING CREAM
Where: Can be found at your local drug or department store.
cosmeticmall.com

I decided to do a review on the 245 mL/8.3 fl.oz Style Straight (approximately $14.99) by Marc Anthony. It is an "instant straightening cream", that claimes to "smooth waves, and frizzy curls into shiny, straight styles". It also claims that it, "repels humidity and prevents heat damage".

For a while I was using L'Oreal Studio Line Heat-Activated Straightening Cream which retails for approximately $5.99 or so. I liked it at the time, however, I had a Conair straightener and it worked well with that..now I have a more expensive Amika straightener, but I didn't feel that the L'oreal straightening cream worked well with it. It made my hair greasy and I just didn't like the over all feel of my hair afterwards.

Enough said about that... STYLE STRAIGHT claims to provide instant results, which I'm not sure I saw. I have thick medium/long blackish/brown hair and I'm not sure that this product really did anything for me. I've used approximately 3/4 of the product already (it was used more than once on different occasions), other than the scent (kind of fresh pepperminty), I can't really say that the product did anything for my hair.

As per the tube/bottle, you are suppose to apply a small amount to the palm of your hand and work it through damp hair from roots to ends. Then follow with a blow-dry using a flat paddle brush in sections, while gently stretching the hair to lock in smoothness. I followed the directions, however, I did not use a paddle brush since I did not have one..maybe that would have made a difference?!?! My hair was smooth the second day compared to the first... and it did give it a "bit" of shine. Also, the consistency is light not as heavy as gels or waxes. Do not use too much otherwise your hair will become greasy and heavy and gross.
If you are a pro at hairstyling then maybe this will work better for you ..

There is no reason why I particularily chose this product .. I simply walked into my local drugstore and walked up and down the aisles looking for a decent straightening product. I've heard lots about Marc Anthony and knowing that he was a salon professional I was even more inclined to purchase this product.

Overall, I would rate this product a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. My guess is, if you know how to use it and you use it properly it probably works (I am not a professional so .. yeah that could be the problem.. LOL).

I will probably continue to use this product along with another product for better results. Don't just take my word for it .. you might have better luck than me :)
Hope that helped!
