Are you a wise girl?

TI heard this in a song and I thought it was brillant! It reminded me of something that might be part of CHANEL lipstick advertisement or something, hahah! I'm a bit of a nutcase, I know. Sorry for the lack of proper posts. I've been really 'out of it ' this week; If you've read the latest post on my personal blog you might have an idea of what's going on ...
TYesterday I had a very BUSY day; I worked for 8 hours and then went out to a fabulous dinner at an Arab restaurant with family. I wanted to document my outfit for the night, but I hardly had time between coming home from work and getting ready and afterwards I was super tired and didn't have the energy to whip out the camera and pose. Sorry! Maybe, I will post the outfit another day this week. Today's been pretty blah. Just dealing with some nuisances at home + it is freezing outside so I was very tempted to just veg in my pj's and not leave the house. Does anyone else have those days? I've been snacking on junk pretty much the whole day, and organizing my room at the same time with music blasting in the background ... I can't seem to get myself to do any school work. I don't know what it is about the weekend, but I NEVER do school work on Fridays and weekends, I just can't get myself too, super weird! I'm off from school on Mondays, so that's technically my course work day ... I'm aiming to do some tomorrow (fingers crossed). More later.

Scrabble anyone?

Hiya! Just wanted to share my coolest purchase yet with you girlies; it's my Scrabble bracelet! How awesome is that! Many of you have probably heard of it or have played it yourselves. For those who don't know what Scrabble is, it's a board game in which players use individual letter tiles to create words and score points (hope that made some sense). I absolutely LOVE unique jewelry such as one-of-a-kind and personalized items; this bracelet is the best of both worlds! They are created using Scrabble tiles on a toggle charm bracelet.  I was lucky enough to have one created (with the letters of my name) by the lovely Victoria India from VIPXO. She also creates Scrabble rings , and has recently started with necklaces. See her Scrabble Jewellry page here. She is such a lovely person and was amazing to communicate with (not to mention fast as well)! & even though i'm not a big bracelet person, I love this one! It's so unique and personal to me; and this is the first time I've come across something this funky and original! Maybe I'll get a necklace next?!? or a ring?!? Hmm ....

BIG thank you to Victoria India for the awesome bracelet!

Ramble + Goodies

I've been sick these last few days (today is one of my better days so far) and although I have not left the house once, I did continue to blog from the comfort of my bed. I haven't attended any classes for 3 days or even left the house since! I've just been stuck with the sniffles and sneezes, and this also means I've been vegging in my PJ's! I know what some of you are thinking ... "and that's a problem because?" Ahaha! I'm not complaining, I quite enjoy lounging around the house in my PJ's! Anywhoo. The door bell rings. Uh-oh. Here I am standing in my light blue and pink polka-dotted Maxi with a green Aeropostale hoodie, hair tied up in a high pony (how's that for an outfit of the day? ahha), droopy eyes and all, and I have to answer the door? (No one was home). & so I did and it was the UPS guy (is it just me or are they always grumpy?). Thank god he didn't see me because he was already at the neighbors front door. One thing I hate though, is when they leave the packages out in the open, I mean they don't take signatures for the packages when they arrive. What if someone were to take them!?!? I opened the door, looked around quickly to see if anyone was watching (me in my sad state) picked up the packages and darted back inside the house. Phewwww! That was quite a mission. Guess what came?! My Aldo goodies! I was in need of a new black handbag I have no idea what happened to the ones I had. The best part had to be the shipping, it came much earlier then expected. I purchased the items online on the 16th (Sunday) and recieved them as soon as today, since I had anticipated them to be in next week! I was super excited to get these in, they just added a little sparkle to my day.

Bag/ KHANO
$29.99
I love this bag! I did, however, anticipate that it would be much bigger in person since it looks quite small, but I'll live. It is sturdy and I love the shape and style. I am a little ticked off that the shoulder belt was broken. I don't think i'd wear it with the shoulder belt anyway but still, you expect to get a complete product when you spend money. Other than that I love it! The bag is quite simple, nothing immensely fancy but it's just perfect. I was thinking of wearing both of these pieces together possibly.

Shoes/ GUBALA
$39.98
These shoes were an impluse buy. I really only needed the bag but I couldn't resist these intricate flats! These are either a hit or miss. Hate it or love it. Some of y'all will hate them and others will love them. I am a huge flats girl, I love the comfort and simplicity of flats compared to heels. When I saw these it was like instant love and I knew I had to have them! They are the perfect simple flat with hint of edge to them. I love the buckle detailing and the zippered back. I've tried them on already and they are quite comfortable to say the least. They are definately NOT appropriate for the weather right now but I will save them for spring and summer! I can't wait to wear them out.

Best Dressed: Golden Globe Awards 2011

Although I didn't get a chance to watch the Golden Globes this year, I did take a peak at the stunning outfits. Here I have chosen my absolute favourite, Angelina Jolie. Aside from the fact that I am a fan; I can honestly say that this is Angelina's best look by far! She looked so stunning in her sparkling emerald green gown by Versace. I love the cut of the dress and the fit is absolutely perfect! The cinched waist hits Jolie perfectly and gives the gown the perfect feminine touch. What I love about the dress is the simplicity. This just goes to show that awkward shapes and designs are not always necessary to make a statement; simplicity is what it's all about!
What was your fave Golden Globes outfit?

COACH ENAMEL STATION DISC NECKLACE $128.00

A girl can dream, right? I am in the need of a new handbag in black specifically, and started my search at Coach. I didn't see any that I was drawn too and decided to have a browse around the site, where I came across the jewelry. I am quite the jewelry fanatic (funny considering how I haven't showcased my love for jewelry here on my blog very often. Hmm... that has to change.) and necklaces are my favourite item of jewelry. I saw this Coach necklace and thought to myself: IWantIt!IGottaHaveIt!IWantIt!IGottaHaveIt! I love how cute and simple this design is, the website has quite a few designs but the simplicity of this one really caught my eye. Now lets be realistic here; a broke college student purchasing a piece of jewelry for 128 bucks? Has anyone considered that she hasn't even bought textbooks yet!?!? Not sure that this is a good buy at the moment, maybe when I win the lottery?!?! All jokes aside, I simply adore this necklace. Coach has really stepped up their game when it comes to the jewelry, I am seriously thinking about making a purchase sometime soon. Although I didn't find a handbag, they're jewelry is quite tempting... who knows, maybe they're leatherware will be come less of a fad and everyone will be going for the jewelry! I imagine that the quality will be amazing!  Keeping my fingers crossed that these stay for a while, I can't get wait to get my hands on one!

Style Inspiration: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is one of my big time style inspirations. She looks amazing in almost anything! (Wouldn't you agree?) She is hands down one of the most stylish celebrities (& she knows it!) in my opinion. Not only that but, style (& good looks) just seems to run in the Kardashian family; has anyone seen Kourtney's style? < I can smell a Kourtney Kardashian style inspiration segment soon! >.
This time around, I decided to do something a little different. As you may have seen in my first lookbook/style inspiration post, I chose to do a casual day look; here however, I chose to do a look inspired by Kim Kardashian that would be perfect for a night out on the town. I chose to use 1 dress style (in different colors) and create an outfit using 1 jacket (also in different colors) and made 2 slightly different looks. As you can see in the first image, I paired the blue ruched tube dress from Miss Selfridge with a black tuxedo styled jacket from Topshop with some affordable accessories. In the second image the accessories remained the same and I changed up the black tux styled jacket for an ivory satined-collared tuxedo jacket from Topshop with the same styled ruched dress in black  from Miss Selfridge. I thought this would be a good way to show one look using the same accessories and different colored main pieces. I felt that this gives you more choice based on your personal preference. So, for those who are more inclined to wear a black blazer, I paired it with the blue dress; and for some who prefer a black dress option I paired it with the ivory blazer. I love all of the accessories! They are tres chic and give the outfit a Kim Kardashian-esque look. I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you would like to see more. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this look, leave me a comment and let me know what your favourite piece is (I've been really into Blazers latetly! Not sure if I could pull it off but...) from this outfit! *This is meant for inspiration only! You do not need to buy these exact pieces to get this look; find pieces that suit your style (and budget) to create your own look. I am not encouraging everyone to look like Kim Kardashian or be like her, I simply love her style and wanted to share it with you. If you would like to see your favourite star/celebrity look on my style inspiration segment, please let me know, I'd be happy to take your request!*

L'Oreal Go 360° Clean Exfoliating Scrub

I absolutely love facial scrubs/exfoliators! I love how they make you feel like you are actually cleaning away dirt from your face! There are so many facial exfoliators and cleansers out there that claim to "deep clean" and after seeing the ads for this product (featuring the lovely Freida Pinto) I decided to try it out. I decided to purchase this product for my trip to England/India/Dubai this past summer and put it to good use! My cousins back home liked it so much I ended up giving my bottle to them!

There are 4 formulas to choose from [Deep Facial Gel Cleanser (Green), Deep Cream Cleanser (Pink), Deep Exfoliating Scrub (Orange), Deep Facial Lotion Cleanser for Sensitive Skin (Blue)] that you can choose based on your personal preference; whether you prefer a lotion cleanser or an exfoliating scrub. I use this cleanser 2 to 3 times a week only since I was told by a pharmacy professional aka my cousin, that using a an exfoliator with beads everyday can dry out your skin... The other days that this cleanser is not used a use a slightly less harsh alternative for my skin.  This product can be purchased for under $10 at your local drug or department store. My favourite part of this cleanser is the part that the scrublet can be removed for usage and put back into its place for storage so you will never loose it!
audreydao.com
I have very oily /sensitive skin especially in my t-zone area and I must say this product works wonders for my skin. I did not feel any tightness or dryness in my skin after usage, something which I have felt with other cleansers. Makeup comes off well with the Deep Exfoliating Scrub ; since the natural apricot seed beads exfoliate away all dirt and grime nicely.  However, it did NOT remove a liquid liner (by GOSH Cosmetics) even though I scrubbed multiple times. That has to be the only disappointment I've had so far with this cleanser.

Directions
1. Squeeze a small amount of cleanser onto the scrublet
2. Apply the scrublet directly to skin in circular motions
3. Rinse off, use as desired.

What the company claims
Go 360° Clean offers a complete range of four expertly formulated, high-foam cleansers that are perfectly calibrated to perform with the Scrublet™. The Deep Exfoliating Scrub is a gentle yet effective scrub, which exfoliates skin with natural apricot seed beads and salicylic acid to reveal perfectly clean, smoother skin. With rich lather and fruity, apricot fragrance, this exfoliating scrub is gentle enough for daily use. Also, try one of Go 360 cleanser in an Lotion, Gel or Cream formula, for every skin type.

• Softer skin:
Sweeps away dead skin cells for an extraordinary softening and smoothing effect.

• Smaller pores:
Go 360° Clean shrinks the appearance of pore size and refinishes the skin's surface to reveal skin with more clarity.

• Deeper cleansing:
Unique formulas reach down deeper to every last pore for a deep clean. Keeps pores clean day after day.

•Easy-to-use:
The Scrublet™ cleanses pore-by-pore with a fuss-free cleansing process.

Ingredients

Thoughts on the scrublet?
• Not a fan. The scrublet is more or less a flimsy piece of rubber with ridges that "supposedly" scrub away dirt and grime. I used it once or twice and then used my fingers to do the job. Since the scrub has little beads that create the exfoliating affect on the skin. However, if you were to use the lotion cleanser or the gel cleanser then they scrublet might be more effective.

The good
• Oil free
• Dermatologist tested
• Good consistency of product
• No breakouts
• No skin tightness
• Good packaging, Sturdy bottle
• Lightly scented (Apricot)
• Good size (178 mL)

The bad
• Not a fan of the scrublet
• May not remove thick formulations of makeup (liquid liner)

Overall experience
• I would rate this product a 7.5 or 8/10 and overall it is a good product.
• The good out ways the bad on this one; I would definately repurchase this product, and based on my experience I am tempted to try the other formulas.

Have you used this product before? If you have, what was your experience like?

Outfit/11012011

I felt like doing an OOTD for you girls, so I did and here it is. Besides the fact that today was my first day of my 2nd semester (of my 2nd year) at College it was a pretty chill day. I don't dress up for school, I think it's a little unnecessary to get all dolled up for only a few hours and to LEARN and get an EDU-MA-CATION. But that's just my opinion....
Anyways. Here is todays outfit: pretty simple, laid back, a little preppy (if you want to call it that) and comfortable! I am all about comfort when it comes to choosing what I wear for school. Details are below, I was wearing black leather boots by Blowfish, however they were wet from the snow outside and water + carpet = bad combination. I apologize for the amateur photography, I know I suck, LOL! Hope you enjoyed my first OOTD, let me know if you would like to see more.

Teen Vogue/ Feb. 2011 : Lucy Hale

twenty2.onsugar.com

I am an avid TEEN VOGUE reader starting from October 2005 when I purchased my first issue, I have been addicted since! I wait and wait (impatiently at that) for the next issue to come out (the other night I re-read all the issues I had! Talk about no life..). I love the fashion and articles that are featured in TEEN VOGUE, and all though I don't have the guts to wear more then half of what I see, I am drawn to the well-put-together outfits and makeup.
Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars graces the cover of the February 2011 issue of TEEN VOGUE! I just got my hands on the edition today; it's a little thin, but I love this issue so far! The younger Kardashian sisters (Kylie & Kendall) are also featured, along with Christine Staub (Daughter of Danielle Staub of Real Housewives of New Jersey). Talk about reality TV stars galore! Hey! Did I mention... prominent (& young!) fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson is also featured (with Gwen Stefani)!?!? This is an amazing issue; the fashion is fabulous, and I can't get enough!

Any TEEN VOGUE readers out there? Anybody?

If you got it, use it!

weheartit.com
I attempted to opened the drawer of my organizer and it wouldn't budge. I'll tell you why...it was brimming to the top with various beauty products! AAAHHHH. Everything from moisturizers, and powders to body sprays and lotions. I then thought to myself, this needs to end, and NOW. "Project 10 Pan" came to mind at this point. If you don't know what "Project 10 Pan" is here is the concept as derived from excellentmakeup.com: "Using up or hitting the pan of 10 makeup items to be eligible to buy 1 new makeup item. Makeup item is not limited to eyeshadow pan/pot but everything from face and liner to lip products with the exception of skin care." Various Youtube guru's have been doing this for a while now, and I think it's high time I too, start! My problem isn't with makeup, I don't have as much makeup as I do "other" beauty products. My goal? - To use up the products I have before purchasing anything new. I have more moisturizers and lotions then I need; I seem to purchase anything that smells good or looks good and then it just sits unused in that drawer for ages!

I don't want to just do this with beauty products but anything and everything I own. I spend way too much money on products, clothing, and knick knacks. By using what I have already, I can save money and use and develop self-control for myself to not have to buy things all the time.

Your thoughts?

Random purchases of the day 07/01/11

Top to Bottom: Wristlet, Coin Pouch, Compact Mirror

Compact Mirror

Barts Earmuffs (please excuse the slobby sweatshirt!)

Earmuffs

I went car shopping today, but no avail. However, I didn't come back empty handed! I purchased some cute finds! The earmuffs are by far my favourite! I am not a hat person; they just don't look good on me (must be my big head!). These 'muffs are so soft and keep my ears warm, I love them! The D'lish set was a steal! I got 3 essential pieces for a fair price. I've been looking for a wristlet big enough to keep my phone + keys + essentials and this one is the perfect size. Also the coin pouch also has a built in key ring that I can attach my keys to without fear of loosing them! It's also a great size, perfect for storing credit cards and change! The compact is so cute; with a double mirror, I can't wait to stash it in my bag! It's perfect to use for touch-ups and making sure there is no spinach stuck between your teeth! (LOL).  Along with that, I purchased other random items (not shown) an Adidas Eau De Toilette set, 2 boxes of my favourite chocolates (to share with the family of course!) and 2 pairs of purple gloves for those cold cold days! Happy Friday everyone!

Recent Purchases from Cydangie Beautyshop

My first 120 Palette & makeup brush set! Hiya Dolls, just wanted to share a quick ramble with you of a few purchases I made online from Cydangie Beautyshop .

I have been wanting to purchase a 120 palette for a VERY VERY long time, and I finally did. (Hey! It beats buying individuals!) Let me tell you how convenient having a 120 palette is! OHEMGEE. I don't have to go looking around for that particular shade of blue or green, it's all right THERE. I got a chance to use the 120 for the first time, during the christmas/wedding weekend I attended, (see the post here) which was great because I did different looks for all of the 3 days (so did my mum, I let her use it too!). The colors are nicely pigmented, which means you do not need to use a lot of product! I purchased it at approximately $25.00 + shipping, and it arrived in 1 week - - with not one but 4 BROKEN eyeshadows. Also there was some damage to my palette.. You can imagine my disappointment. < sighs > Similarly, I purchased a 120 palette + brushes for a friend as a gift (and hoped and prayed that nothing happened to hers!) and thankfully, her set was fine; all shadows intact and no damage. I guess it's just my luck! Har. Anyhow, overall I was very pleased, and I won't be purchasing eyeshadows for a very longggg time (since I have this palette)!

It's a clutch! Or is it? I wanted to share this GORGEOUS makeup brush set purchased from Cydangie Beautyshop a few weeks ago. I bought it on special for only $33.18 CDN for the set, (minus $5.95 for shipping!) which is a pretty good deal considering how much brush sets normally cost... It was well packaged and arrived on my door step in approximately 1-2 weeks which is not bad.

The brushes are made from Goat hair (just in case you were curious) and come individually wrapped in plastic, which is marvelous! I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but I will definitely do a review once I have had a good using of them. Right of the bat, I was impressed buy the quality of the clutch, the material is quite sturdy and durable and I absolutely love the print! I love how all the brushes are in one convenient place! This clutch is perfect because you can literally roll it out, lay it flat and do your make up; and when you are done, just pop the brushes back into the slots, roll it up, snap it shut and VOILA! You are good to go! One thing I don't like, however,  is that the brushes are not named or numbered...but that's just my opinion! It is currently sold out, I am not sure if they will be getting anymore in, I got this at the whim of a second while I was browsing the page, I almost didn't see it! Too bad it doesn't have any pockets, or else I would've used it as a clutch for my next outing! haha!
There are a total of 16 brushes which include the following:
  1. Face Brush
  2. Blush Brush
  3. Contouring Brush
  4. Large Shading Brush
  5. Small Shading Brush
  6. Fluff Brush
  7. Shader Brush
  8. Small Shader Brush
  9. Concealer Brush
  10. Fan Brush
  11. Flat Angled Brush
  12. Lip Brush
  13. Eye Liner Brush
  14. Spool Brush
  15. Eyebrow Brush/Lash Comb
  16. Sponge Brush
* Sorry about the bad "bed" photography (it's so hard to get good lighting in the evening!).
ThankGodIt'sFriday! I can't believe i'm back in class next week! Ahhh! But for now, TGIF!

Let's Go Wild!

Hi Lovelies!  I purchased a few items from Suzy Shier and Sirens today and wanted to share them with you all! I realised a little while later that they were mostly all animal-inspired pieces, what a coincidence! I love anything leopard/leopard print and I was so excited to find these wild cat inspired pieces! Please excuse my ghetto way of taking photos! I do what I can to get good quality, alright? Sorry, that was quite picture heavy wasn't it?!

Surprisingly, I wasn't in the shopping mood today..honestly, I only went out for a change of setting and some fresh air. But, I couldn't resist these wild pieces! I have been looking for big "statement" studs for a while now, and just haven't found a pair that I really liked...untill I saw these! I have also been looking for a Leopard necklace...if that makes any sense and I found one! This necklace was also available in gold, but since I have so many gold necklaces I decided to go with silver! The ring was a piece that I was immediately drawn to, and I have started a bit of a ring collection and thought that this would be the perfect addition! + it's animal themed how could I resist?! The Leopard top randomly caught my eye as I was walking through the shop, and I knew I HAD to have it. There was no way I was leaving with out it. Let me tell you that I had the perfect outfit in mind when I saw it! HMM...maybe I shall do an OOTD with this top? Hope you enjoyed this post! Toodles.
